Polygraph....it's not just lie detecting...IT'S TRUTH VERIFICATION!

Polygraph literally means "many writings." Polygraph examiners use analog or computerized polygraph instruments to record the physiological data from at least three systems in the human body. A typical polygraph examination will include: (1) A pre-test where the examiner will complete required paperwork, discuss the issue at hand with the examinee, and familiarize the examinee with the testing procedure. All questions are reviewed with the examinee prior to testing. There are no surprise or trick questions. An examinee is fully aware of what questions will be asked of him or her prior to taking the test. (2) A chart collection phase, where the examiner will administer and collect a number of polygraph charts. (3) A test data analysis phase, where the examiner will analyze the charts and render an opinion as to the truthfulness of the person taking the test. The examinee will have an opportunity to explain physiological responses in relation to one or more questions asked during the test.

Skeptical? The polygraph instrument is highly accurate, and when used properly by an ethical examiner following all rules necessary to produce a valid and reliable test, can be up to 96% accurate. Most people think of polygraph as a "lie detector". In fact, in the private sector, we primarily use the instrument to prove the client is TELLING THE TRUTH!

Polygraph is used to conduct pre-employment polygraphs primarily in testing prospective applicants for Federal Law Enforcement Agencies, State Law Enforcement Agencies, and Local Law Enforcement Agencies such as Police and Sheriff's.

Polygraph is also used by the U.S. Attorney Offices, District Attorney Offices, Public Defender Offices, Defense Attorneys, Parole Probation Departments and Attorneys in civil litigation.

Polygraph is also used by private citizens in matters not involving the legal or criminal justice system, such as matters of infidelity. Other uses include arson investigation, Immigration and Political Asylum Testing, Divorce-Asset disputes.

Lastly, Polygraph is used by Companies and Corporations under the restrictions and limitations of the Employee Polygraph Protection Act of 1988 (EPPA). The following types of business fall under this category:

Businesses under contract with the Federal Government involving specified activities such as counter-intelligence work, business whose primary purpose consists of providing armored car personnel, personnel involved in the design, or security personnel in facilities which have a significant impact on the health or safety of any state. Examples of these facilities would be a nuclear or electric power plants, public water works, or toxic waste disposal. Lastly, companies which manufacturer, distribute or dispense controlled substances.
