Thanks so much for writing back. That is the beauty of networking-I had never heard of One Neighborhood and I read the website with extreme interest! RIght now I am in the States for another six months but when I get back I am not going to be at the school anymore. I am going to help me friend who has started a bead project with street boys. She wants me to start a textile project and my daughter to do a ceramic project. So it is neat to see what is being done with marketing in this country and fair trade, etc. I signed up for their newsletter! Thank you so much for sharing about One Neighborhood.
As far as the pen pal idea goes-I like the idea. The school that I taught at would not be a good option because they already have a program going on and most of the kids are western. But it would be really cool if the kids you are thinking of would be willing to write real letters-not email-I think kids at local schools would be so touched. Let me know a little bit more about what you were thinking about. I love the idea though!
Well, it has been great brainstorming together with you!
