I give out Calling Cards when my kids have a "Play Date" with friends!
I have all my business info on the card and it gets them wondering about my business... then they ask ME about the business and then I am not pressuring them!!
I have no success with Twitter, but I have heard of others who have. I always believe it is better to connect personally with people in some way.. whether it is twitter or whatever. Best to you! Sheatina
If you have a website, you have more success than you know. Posting your link in your twitter profile will bring your website higher up in the search engine. :)
I have had little success with Twitter, but I think it greatly depends on the business you have. I have a friend who designs jewelry and so she can use Twitter to generate interest. My product is not quite that easy, it needs to be touched to be understood.

I use twiter, I can't say I have had actual leads from twitter as customers rarely say where they learned about my business. I have found that facebook has been a great place to gain connections and sales.
That is a totally great idea!! I am with send out cards, so I just send out a card or post card and my business has doubled in the last month. I am rep with Oxyfresh. That is a great tip for you to give. Thanks, Sheatina

I really like the sending out cards idea. I haven't done it yet but I will be sending out my first ones this holiday season. I hope to generate more business. I'm right now sending out cards to previous customers but hope to soon send out post cards to prospective customers soon.
Gail,
If you're talking about SOC I use it all the time and I love it. I've just started the business side of it and have been updating my facebook page to get things going. I'm in the infancy stage but I love the product and feel very comfortable talking and promoting it with others. Good luck with it.
I market my business with a blog, an ezine, and a web site. My ezine [Tweaking Your Life!] is at no cost and is targeted to solopreneurs. It provides articles plus resources for the solopreneur to save them time and money. It also offers discounts on products. So far, the response has been tremendous! I just redesigned my web site, and set up a new blog using Wordpress.

I have my own website, keep it updated, have business cards available at all times, make massage therapy part of my conversation at one point or another while talking with someone new (that's my career). I also make sure my website link is in every profile I have online. I also join every single social network that people invite me to and make sure my profiles are fully open for viewing. I have my business address and info in my email "signature" as well.
