What are your thoughts? Do you believe that emotions play a big role in success? Do you have examples that prove your point of view?

Hi Dawn...

Oh I certainly think so! Unfortunately, they can play a role in failure as well. One of the things I tell my daughter is that she is an *emotion conductor*....in other words, her passion can be incredibly infectious and contagious, and when she is blue......so goes the room.....

It's late and I need to get to bed....but I will be thinking of some examples, both in my own life and those I've observed and share them at a later time.....

Time for some rest.....

I totally agree that emotions play a huge role in being successful. Since I run a local networking group here for women,
emotions are displayed all the time and sometimes its not pretty.
I know for myself if I'm having a rough day I try to stand back from conducting any type of business. Sometimes easier said than done.
I do believe that people are moved by their emotions and even act them out. I've seen many women fail here in business due to their emotions ruling their world.

{{{Vicki)}} You are so right - sometimes easier said than done! Now you would think that by the time you reach the age of 60 :-) a person would know better than to let their emotions rule their lives. However, a few years ago emotions ran high within a business venture I was involved. I was so emotionally devastated that I had to shut down and walk away. I was numb and went through some mindless emotions trying to make sense and feel my way along the path. Now, I look back on it and I realize that is was just one of the doors that my precious Lord shut so he could open a new one for me! I did not need to be so lost, I just needed to lift my face and heart! Not a rosy path we all walk, but we can still stop and smell the roses!

Dawn, I do believe emotions play a huge roll in success. I know in the past, when I was depressed or feeling down, my business followed me down.. When I am feeling up and happy, my business goes up. But, mostly when I am focused on helping others get what they want, then I stay happy and everything works out. I can see examples over and over in my past. Blessings, Sheatina

Dawn,

I believe emotions always play a role, but it is our negative emotions that we usually allow to have the most power over us. Consequently, their influence can drag us down if we're already in a depressed state or they can diminish our enthusiasm if we are striving toward a goal.

In striving to do the work of change, we are always confronted by the need to call our negative emotions out into the light so that we can see them for what they really are and make conscious choices to respond differently. This process is the journey we are all on as "spiritual beings having a human experience." Processing clarity about our emotional states and recognizing the power of thoughts ignited by emotions will enlighten our journeys and enhance our successes in this life experience.

For me, my entire life is an example of how my emotions have influenced my expressions. There was a time when it was like being on one of those really scary roller coaster rides! These days it more often feels like the kiddie roller coaster. Of course, as we all know, there's no such thing as "coasting" in Spirit. You're either growing or sliding backward. So I try to stay alert to any negative emotions creeping into my thoughts.

Emotions are a part of all of us ... sometimes positive sometimes negative. In business we get very excited at success and have to be careful of the downside with the challenges. It always help to have support - someone on your side that encourages all the positives.
